In just three years, war has changed and become even more deadly.
Troops who started fighting the Scandinavian Campaign in the First Echelon can now increase their combat effectiveness by upgrading to the latest, more advanced equipment used by the Second Echelon forces.
NOTE: This is a free, downloadable Print-and-Play. You will need a good printer, some heavy photographic paper, and probably your local printing shop for the updated LOC map as it measures 100×60 cm.
The Upgrade Kit has the following components:
- Unified Rules: The latest rules version, also used in the 1985: Mutual Assured Destruction combined campaign.
- LOC Map: Replace the two smaller LOC Maps used by the First Echelon.
- NATO Bases 1, NATO Bases 2 and NATO Air Superiority Charts: Replace the corresponding charts used by the First Echelon.
- Warsaw Pact Bases and Warsaw Pact Air Superiority Charts: Replace the corresponding charts used by the First Echelon.
- NATO Tables and Warsaw Pact Tables: Replace the corresponding tables used by the First Echelon.
- Additional Counters (Front) and Additional Counters (Back): New forces, most notably the single ships forming each US CV Battlegroup.
- Scenarios Booklet Update: Integrates the First Echelon’s Scenario Booklet with the info needed by the Second Echelon.
Now, to the front!

Nicely done. Thanks!
Can I just buy this rather than printing out counters, etc?
Joe
Joe,it’s not for sale 🙂
I’m having someone make up the counters for me. Would y’all allow me to advertise his contact info (assuming he would want me to) for others to contact him? He, of course, would charge for the service. I don’t know how much quite yet. He sells counters for games regularly on eBay, so he does a good job.
Hi Don,
I am sorry but, as for any other publisher, the counters and all the components are copyright of Thin Red Line Games unless differently specified. We cannot endorse someone printing and selling them…BTW it is illegal, even in the case he is not gaining money.
He’s a friend, so he’s doing me a favor.
The reason I didn’t know the price is because he is not charging me anything. I suspected you would not agree to the offer before I posted due to copyright issues, but I thought it was worth a try as not everyone is proficient at making counters.
